UNIVERSAL INTERNET RESOLUTION
SETTINGS
Display properties for Screen / Monitor Resolution...
800 x 600 has been the Internet
standard for many years...
To check your Screen Resolution (Windows 95, 98 and Me):
- Press your Start button, then Settings, then Control
Panel
- Double click the Display icon.
- Click Settings to enter the Settings tab.
- Bottom right under Screen Area your resolution will be displayed as
### x ###, e.g: 800 x 600.
- Correct viewing is also possible with a higher resolution, but the
contents will be a little condensed as a larger area is viewed within the
monitor screen e.g: 1024 x 768. This is usually acceptable with
larger computer monitors...
- A smaller resolution e.g: 640 x 480, will appear to over magnify the page,
either truncating text / graphics or necessitating sideways scrolling to
view the full page. Generally distorted and unreliable viewing is
expected from lower resolution settings.
To change your Screen Resolution (Windows 95, 98 and Me):
- Under the Screen Area section, change the slide to more (or less).
- Your computer should prompt you by default before applying these changes,
allowing you to preview the change before accepting the new resolution
settings.
- If your computer cannot accommodate these changes or if you encounter
problems, you are welcome to email our Webmaster for support.
- Screen resolution changes are normally reversible and can be changed
regularly, depending on your viewing requirements.
- 800 x 600 Screen Resolution is the Internet standard - you will improve
your overall Internet viewing experience by adopting this standard.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but we have been obliged to
optimise the design of our Website for the recommended 800 x 600 universal
minimum standard.
